(b4/en) The Greenpeace case will continue with a new, and maybe last day in court this Friday. The first day in court for the 11 Greenpeace members was in June.
One of the defendants told cop15antirep:
“Most likely we will get a jail sentence. As you may have heard we are also charged for having insulted the Queen of Denmark. So if we get convicted for that we will be the first ones in history!”

(de) Der Prozess gegen elf Greepeace-Aktivist_innen geht am Freitag in einen weiteren, und möglicherweise letzten Verhandlungstag. Der erste fand im Juni statt. Unter anderem wirft die Staatsanwaltschaft den Greenpeace-Aktivist_innen sogar “Beleidigung der dänischen Königin” vor (siehe ältere Einträge).
“Sehr wahrscheinlich werden wir Gefängnisstrafen erhalten”, teilte eine betroffene Person cop15antirep mit. “Wir wären die ersten Menschen in der dänischen Geschichte, die wegen Beleidigung der Königin verurteilt würden.”

(b4) (en) The trial against Natasha Verco and Noah Weiss may end already tomorrow with last witnesses, procedures and the verdict. The plan was to hear “police witnesses” (it’s still unclear, which concrete accusations they are asked to testify) tomorrow and to have the procedures and the verdict on 31st. But obviously, no one in court believes, that any police witness could give “hot” new informations which legitimate the charges of the prosecutor. But the experiences of the last cases (see e.g. Anthony Arrabal) show, that there is no guarantee that the judges sentence the accused of acquittal, even if all rational arguments are on the side of the accused and no prove is against them. That’s why we ask for media coverage: If the public is watching, that means more pressure on the judges to work properly. And that seems important for a case which is about the right to assemble.

(de) Das Gerichtsverfahren gegen Natasha Verco und Noah Weiss könnte bereits morgen mit Zeugenaussagen, den Plädoyers und einem Urteil enden. Der urpsrüngliche Plan war, morgen “Polizeizeugen” zu hören (wobei unklar blieb, was sie eigentlich bezeugen sollen) und am 31. August mit Plädoyers, Urteilsfindung und -verkündung abzuschliessen. Aber offenbar glaubt niemand im Gericht, dass irgendein Polizist etwas aufregendes Neues in diesen Fall bringen könnte. Doch die Erfahrungen vergangener Prozesse zeigen, dass ein offensichtlicher Freispruch keineswegs sicher ist – selbst dann nicht, wenn alle Argumente für und keine Beweise gegen die Angeklagten sprechen (siehe z. B. Anthony Arrabal). Deshalb bitten wir auch hier noch einmal um Berichterstattung. Die Aufmerksamkeit der Öffentlichkeit kann das entscheidenede bisschen Druck sein, das die Richter_innen dazu bringt, gründlich zu arbeiten. Und das scheint wichtig zu sein, denn schliesslich geht es hier um das Versammlungsrecht.

(b4) (en) At thursday, 11th of March, Demonstrations against Repression will take place in Copenhagen, Berlin and maybe other places we haven’t heard of. The Demonstratioin in Copenhagen will start 16:30 at Palæstinas/Israel Plads, pass the court house and end up in Christiiania with folk kitchen. In Berlin a simple Manifestation with information desk will start at 15:30 at the subwaystation Warschauer Straße.

The Action-Day takes place before a crucial trial against Noah Weiss and Natasha Verco, who are accused for “organisation” of the civil mass actions “reclaim power”. It seems that the prosecutor wants to test, if the judges feel sympathy with more complex constructed accusations than just stone-throwing ore kicking policemen. That’s why the COP15antirep-Group calls for action: Please join the demonstrations to show that accusations against people takeing serious their democratic rights don’t have your sympathy!

We also call urgently for media coverage on the trial! The Experience of the last trials shows, that there is little chance, that the judges work properly and take severe contradictions of police whitnesses and police investigation as serious as they should. Only with critical media coverage there may be a chance that rule-of-law-principles like “in dubio pro reo” are taken seriosly.

(de) Am Donnerstag, den 11. März finden in Kopenhagen, Berlin und vielleicht auch an anderen Orten Demonstrationen gegen die Gipfel-Repressionen statt. Die Demonstartion in Kopenhagen beginnt um 16:30 am Palästina/Israel-Platz, geht am Gericht vorbei und Endet in Christiania mit VoKü; in Berlin, am U-Bahnhof Warschauer Str. beginnt um 15:30 Uhr eine Kundgebung mit Infostand.

Der Aktionstag findet vor einem möglicherweise entscheidenden Prozess gegen Noah Weiss und Natasha Verco statt. Sie werden beschuldigt, zivile Massenaktionen wie die “Reclaim Power Aktion” am 16.12. organisiert zu haben. Es sieht so aus, als wolle die Staatsanwaltschaft testen, inwiefern die Richter_innen Sympathie empfinden für komplexer konstruierte Anklagen als bloß Steinwürfe oder Tritte gegen Polizisten. Deshalb ruft die COP15Antirep-Gruppe zum Aktionstag mit auf: Bitte beteiligt Euch an den Demos und zeigt, dass es nicht auf Eure Sympathie stößt, wenn Menschen wegen der Ausübung ihrer demokratischen Rechte unter den Verfolgungsdruck von Ermittlungsbehörden geraten!

Dringender Aufruf zur Berichterstattung über den Prozess! Die Erfahrung der letzten Prozesse zeigt, dass die Chance gering ist, dass die Richter_innen gründlich arbeiten und offensichtliche Widersprüche in den Aussagen der Polizeizeug_innen und in den Ermittlungen so ernst nehmen, wie sie es sollten. Vielleicht kann kritische Berichterstattung genug Druck erzeugen, damit rechtsstaatliche Grundsätze wie “im Zweifel für den/die Angeklagte” auch beherzigt werden.
